I had this same problem with an old laptop. I took out the hard drive to connect it as a extra drive on another machine and made a copy of essential files. The funny thing is that the laptop worked fine after I re-installed the hard drive because of an original loose connection.

what you can do is. set “show hidden files” on folder option menu and delete “autorun.inf” on your main root directory. ( C / D/ E )

There is great problem after removing viruses from my laptop. After removing viruses
C & D drive are not opend when double click on it. It shows “open with” .However I can open both drives when i explore .I have XP SP2 .Moreover my automatic updates are not installing the required updates.Recently i used some registery repair softwares and deleted some registeries.My antivirus Mcafee 2008 shows the registery change when it starts.

Please give a solution .
